Hexenmoor

One of the most ancient cities on the continent of Norune. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times since antiquity. Until recently, under the control of a faction known as the Circle of Requiem. While they were the most dominant faction in the city, they were not a unified city. Several groups claimed ancestral authority as descendants from those who ruled during the Age of Darkness. The harsh tactics the Circle used to suppress these other groups, prevented them from bonding together when a threat from without arrived. The Crimson Hoard, a legion of conquerors from across the seas, arrived looking for lands to take as their own as a foothold to expand their territory. The divided city fell to the experienced warriors of the legion, who promptly began to publicly execute all those who stood against them. With dissent silenced, there is at present no overt challenge to the legion. Banners of the Crimson Hoard now fly over Hexenmoor.
